Originating from Texas with her smooth, fluttery, and breathy vocals, Mackk brings you her own alternative style of vulnerable, buttery, and thudding R&B and lyrics that resonate with broken and mended souls everywhere. With a style that brags a sheening pop top and hip hop bottom, Mackk is a musical force charging with the likes of other Texas-based artists such as, Erykah Badu, Beyoncé, and Leon Bridges.
She grew up immersed in music as her dad played Motown throughout the house. When her dad taught her the bass line to Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” on keyboard, she fell in love with music and creating it to connect with others and their experiences. Mackk is not only a singer-songwriter, but also a producer, mixing and recording engineer. Since attending Berklee College of Music in 2017, she has done a variety of studio work, recording and producing for artists and colleagues such as LV, Asme, and Vulcan Xs1. As a mentee of Prince Charles Alexander, she learned the magic behind record making and the art of deeply connecting to an audience through music.
Her personal lyrics connect nature, vivid colors, and creative objects to attachment and intimacy, and creates a soothing vibe that expresses her overall mantra that, “there’s growth in vulnerability.” Mackk is inspired to be an imaginary friend to her listeners, acting as a bridge between conversations about the depths of love and emotional experiences, emanating a soft space for people looking to get away from a hard world.
